If like me you have a soft-spot for the glory days of the RuneQuest 2 rule-set, but nowadays find it a bit fiddly (like a lot of the games we enjoyed in our youth, Rolemaster I'm looking at you), then you should do yourself a big cuddly favour and take a gander at OpenQuest.
The rules still feel like old RQ but have been trimmed down, put on a diet and told to get on a Stairmaster. The rules can be used for any fantasy setting of choice and the one book gives you everything you need to play. If it was anymore old school, it would come in a box.
